My CRC
Our Member’s Goals
We’re shining the spotlight on some of our members and their fitness goals. We’d love to hear about your CRC – get in touch!
Swimming – It’s a Meditation
If you’re a regular in the pool - you will have seen Elizabeth Kramer. Elizabeth is recovering from cancer treatment, and every time she swims, she tries for a mile - 72 lengths. She swims and counts, swims and counts, and tells us, “it’s a meditation.”
It’s about Personal Records
Diego Silva Sanchez is a 20-year-old MCS graduate who visits the gym regularly to work on his goal. He’s not trying to break world records - just a personal one. His goal is to bench press two plates - 90lbs.
To keep swimming
Josh Weinstein has questions. Every time he swims at the Catskill Recreation Center, he wonders, “Is this really as fast as I can swim?” And what happened to the video footage of him swimming in the Hudson river in 2006?
500lbs
Clinton Zimmerman doesn’t take anything too seriously except perhaps being consistent and having good form. When Clint isn’t lifting seriously-heavy weights at the CRC, he’s an Apprentice Lineman in Fleischmanns or helping with CRC events such as the Halloween Trick or Treat Trail event (thank you, Clint!)
Clint’s goal is to lift 500 lbs, and have fun doing it. He says, “It feels good to be in shape, to accomplish something physically.”
🚴♀️ 29 miles
In 2022 we invited former CRC Board Member Kent Garrett to capture the Catskill Mountain Cycling Challenge on video. Kent hasn’t ridden a bike since he was a kid, but he was inspired by the beauty and camaraderie of the riders. His goal is to ride the Catskill Mountain Cycling Challenge!
