The mission of the CRC is to offer year-round swimming, fitness, and recreational opportunities that promote healthy lifestyles for people of all ages from the surrounding communities.
The employees of the Catskill Recreation Center take this mission to heart. Their focus is on assisting members and guests in meeting their fitness goals by cultivating a supportive community environment where everyone is given the opportunity to challenge themselves.
We welcome people of all levels and abilities at the Catskill Recreation Center . Below you will find a list of amenities that are available to our guests.
Men’s and Women’s locker rooms, include lockers (bring your own lock), showers (bring a towel & toiletries), and restrooms.
Family/Handicapped accessible locker room that is near the pool. It includes lockers (bring your own lock), showers (bring a towel & toiletries), and a restroom.
We have a six lane 25-yard lap pool and a zero depth entry pool.
The pool temperature ranges from 82 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit with the goal to keep it at 83 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lap lane Availability
During pool programs: two lanes will be available for lap swimming.
All other times: four lanes will be available for lap swimming.
We do reserve the right to alter this normal lap lane designation if the need arises.
We offer: Group exercise classes in both the shallow and deep ends, swim lessons (private & group), pool parties, family fun night, swim club for youth, Masters Swim for adults, and an opportunity to swim and exercise on your own during open hours.
Pool Supplies Available to our Guests
Kick boards, pull buoys, pool noodles, water weights, and buoyancy belts.
Cardio equipment consists of five Tread Mills, three ellipticals, one stair master, two recumbent bikes, two stationary bikes, one row machine, and nine spin bikes.
We have a full set of Cybex weight machines, dumbbells that range in weight from two to 100 pounds, a squat rack, bench press, and a Nautilus weight machine.
We also have exercise balls, hula hoops and Yoga mats for stretching.
Classes include Kickboxing, Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, Spin, and Kettlebells.
This room includes a restroom. It can hold about 25 people around a table.
